Sign Language For Shedeur Sanders

Shedeur Sanders, Colorado Buffaloes’ quarterback, already has some sign language going on with his partners-in-crime like Justin Mayers and Kahlil Benson, but they can beef up their vocabulary, if they want.

We are scared of Sign Language because we regard it as a disability. It is not. It is used by people who have two hands, eyes, arms everything, in pairs like us. They dress, laugh, cry and love like us. Sign Language is not only for students at Gallaudet University in Washington and the deaf community at large, it is also for people who work in tight spaces, like football games as well.

I don’t know how players manage with that heavy load in their faces, but their eyes are open. Shedeur and his partners-in-crime, talk to each other through their eyes. They are wearing gloves but they also ‘talk’ with their hands. Hands and eyes, are the pen and paper of Sign Language.

What is Sign Language? It’s a baby crying because the mother is mad at him. That tiny thing can read his mother’s eyes. Husband and wife fight with eyes, not a word spoken. Sign Language is not only for football players, but for all of us because elevators (lifts), places where we work and sports arenas, are infested with hidden microphones.
