Champagne? Not Yet.

Mesa, Arizona Mayor John Giles, has no qualms about voting for Kamala Harris, instead of Donald Trump. He made it clear at the DNC in Chicago.

It will be premature for the Harris/Walz to uncork the champagne because of the steady stream of Republicans endorsing Kamala Harris over their party’s presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

First of all, it is not compulsory. It’s an individual decision to go public, and high profile Republicans who do it silently, should not be castigated. Secondly, some working Americans who have voted Republican in the last two elections have also been on T.V. denouncing Donald Trump for bringing their party into disrepute and that is why they will vote for the Harris/Walz ticket. The vote is secret therefore, there’s no way of confirming that they’ll follow through, whereas someone like Liz Cheney cannot change her mind in the privacy of the voting booth, because she is a public figure. Her vote can be double-checked.

Ana Navarro, an American political commentator and co-host of The View was one of the 8 Republicans that spoke at the DNC in Chicago.

Thirdly, high profile Republicans are not endorsing Kamala Harris for a job in her government if she wins. No. They are doing it to save the teapot, the Republican Party. They are also doing it for their names in history, that they did the right thing, voted for country and not man.

John Giles, the mayor of Mesa, Arizona is one of the eight Republicans that spoke at the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago August 19-22 (that was a touch of democracy, right there).

“I have an urgent message for the majority of Americans who, like me, are in the political middle. John McCain’s Republican Party is gone and we don’t owe a damn thing to what’s left behind.”

Ana Navarro a political commentator and part of The View, also spoke at the DNC. “Every American needs to love our country more. Every American has the duty to put our country first, country before party, country before political ambition and in this election, putting country first means one thing: voting for Kamala Harris.”

It’s too early to uncork the champagne because of these testimonials, but it is a great boost for grassroots Democrats. They’ll repeat what they did for Joe Biden in 2020, elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
