I Voted Nice Feeling

Voting options are there to accommodate different needs. Not all Americans work in the family business or have lucrative online gigs. Early voting is my thing.

“Have you voted?”

“Nope. Early voting has started, so I’ll take Tuesday off and do just that.”

Friends. Family. Co-workers. They are talking about the 5 November presidential election. Presumably, they’ve registered to vote already so, all that is left is choosing voting options. Example. Early voting.

I think most voters will go for that, if they can. What is nice about early voting is zero lines. Volunteers and full-time election workers are happy to see you coming in through the door. They guide you through the three steps that lead to no-man’s-land, that cubicle where it’s just you, and that ballot. You know who you want as future President and Vice President, but you remember that voting organizations stressed the importance of voting for other ‘functions’ on that ballot, as well.

You don’t watch T.V. debates, you don’t listen to polls, you are not on Twitter (now called Elon) but you know what you need. You vote, step out and place the ballot on the voting machine. The machine swallows it. You thank voting staff and you re-enter the world outside. Have you noticed how people look after voting? Serene.

“I voted.”
