Putting Voters In Boxes

Vice President Kamala Harris with the boys bound for the Paris Olympics. She must be proud, because Team U.S.A. returned home with gold hardware. Steph Curry, the basketball player endorsed her at the DNC in Chicago, via video. Question? Can she shoot hoops? LOL.

College football players that are Americans don’t vote.

NFL players that are Americans don’t vote.

NBA players that are Americans don’t vote.

WNBA players that are Americans don’t vote.

MLB players that are Americans don’t vote.

NHL players that are Americans don’t vote.

Professional tennis players that are Americans don’t vote.

Professional track and field players that are Americans don’t vote.

Don’t shoot me. It’s a supposition based on how voters are boxed. The traditional classification of labour, race, gender, religion, swing states  etcetera, is cast in stone but, there is no box for professional players. That is why I suppose they don’t vote or that their vote is immaterial. Is it because they have players’ associations that take care of their needs? I don’t know, but surely, they are Americans first and professional players second. They will retire or stop playing for one reason or the other, but still remain Americans.

Because they are not in a voting box, nominees don’t campaign around them except for, the occasion stunt of photo-bombing a game.
