Canada Pierre Poilievre and Trump Tactics

Image
Pierre Poilievre, Canada’s Conservative Party leader wants to borrow Donald Trump’s playbook. My way or no way. If his party loses, then the election was rigged. The truth of the matter is that he doesn’t have any meaningful contribution to make so he’s chasing shadows like China. Our daily news bread is the Conservative Party accusing China of interfering in Canadian federal elections. Pierre Poilievre demanded a public inquiry into the matter. Prime Minister Trudeau obliged and hired David Johnson to investigate. He did the job and tabled a report recommending no inquiry. Today the following parties tried to get David Johnson fired. - NDP - Conservative Party - Bloc Quebecois Why? Because he didn’t give them the result they wanted. They want that public inquiry into imagined Chinese interference. This is dangerous because it smacks of Donald Trump in America. He wanted a certain result. He didn’t get it and orchestrated the 6 January 2021 storming of the Capitol. He sent hoodlums to

Grandparents Suffer in Silence

Image
Elder abuse is cloaked in many forms, but it becomes worse when parents and grandparents are denied a voice. Four year-old kids have more rights than senior citizens. We see them in shopping malls throwing tantrums. Prince Williams’ kids do it all the time, and we call it cute. If it was Prince Harry’s kids, we would accuse Meghan Markle of shaming the perfect royal family. The Queen was old, but she didn’t experience elder abuse because she had her own space in castles and mini-castles. Parents and grandparents living at home do not have that independence. That is why some of them prefer living in old age homes. Mental abuse is when they cannot voice their opinion about their health or what they want. In some cases, it is naked fear of their grown-up kids. Mental abuse is when kids make travel arrangements for parents without asking them if they want to sit on an airplane for 20 hours, or not. It is even worse now, because we do everything for strangers called followers. It is a showr

Avoid Touching Co-Workers

Image
Avoid body contact at work, all days of the week and month. Avoid touching people you work with, and definitely not women. You don’t know how it will be received and perceived. You don’t want to be accused of sexual harassment. If possible, there must be a third person in a room, when a man and a woman have meetings. Better still, they must be conducted in open spaces. No touching. You must also learn how to anticipate being touched and move away. Isn’t that extreme? We all want to be seen as friendly, promotion material. Talking about promotion. That’s why you must avoid being clamped on the shoulder by the boss. You were not promoted despite your long hours and innovation that generated millions of dollars. They have moved you from your office to prepare it for the new guy. The boss is telling you something when he clamps your shoulder. It’s not a friendly gesture. It is a rubber stamp. The company made the right decision to hire somebody else. The boss might even predict you’ll like

Fear of Death Ghosts Know Better

Image
France. Castle for sale. Europe is full of cheap real estate because of labor shortage. Yes. Royalty was about servants who never had a life because they served princes and princesses. ‘Wake up! Honey, wake up.’ “Ooh! I’m still alive!’ ‘Again?’ ‘Yeah. Same nightmare. He tried to kill me.’ We don’t want to die because we’ll miss personal debt or millions of dollars in the bank, traffic jams, floods, fire, the boss, COVID-19, the government and the people who shake us when we have nightmares. I’m not laughing, just thinking about why talking about death is taboo, when it’s inevitable. Ask ghosts. They have the inside story. Do you buy old houses/apartments, renovate and rent them out? There is dirt cheap real estate in Europe. Castles, but you won’t buy them because you are scared of ghosts, when plumbing should be your only problem. How are we going to know what happens in the after life, when we don’t embrace people who live there, if I may put it like that? The Commodores, the old sch

Baby Boy Terrorists

Image
It’s a boy! It still brings a lot of joy for many reasons. The father is happy that his surname will live forever. The woman who just gave birth is happy that she has done her duty as culture demands. She sleeps peacefully with the false hope that the husband won’t marry a second wife, to bear him heirs. The government is happy, for the simple reason that it is more money.  The boy will grow up to be a man, who will also have kids, thus keeping the economy running. Future wars will also have soldiers that will die abroad for American and Russian interests. It’s a boy is also good news for other causes. Terrorist and hate groups prowl the internet looking for fertile minds to absorb murderous messages. Although girls are also recruited, boys are more independent at home. Parents don’t monitor them closely like girls. Baby boys are pliable because they grow up on stories about being a hero. Terrorist and hate groups sow disinformation. It might be the status quo. The government is bad o

Miami Heat 2023 Basket of the East

Image
Jimmy Butler of Miami Heat fame is the 2023 Eastern Conference MVP. They beat Boston. Coach Spoelstra 'Spo' cannot stop smiling. Miami Heat is the 2023 champ of the Eastern Conference. I was sad when they lost last year. OLD POST I WROTE DURING THE 2021-2022 NBA SEASON Miami Heat lost the Eastern Conference Finals to Boston Celtics. Bring out the Kleenex, my second in command team lost. First is Toronto Raptors of course. I live in Canada so it’s the way to go. But the most difficult part about being an NBA coach or player is handling the media. It decides on the story angle before they interview you. The angle could be: you were traded because you don’t get along with the coach and team mates, your butt has cramps because you’ve been on the bench half the season or you missed the throw that led to the team’s exit from the semi’s.  Be prepared. Question : You have been likened to Kobe Bryant, but this is the first time you’re in the playoffs. Answer : There’s always a first tim

Carting Is From Car

Image
Grocery stores lock their carts, because the homeless used them to cart their life around. The origin of words. Car t for example. It’s from the word car.  I’m not a linguist rather, I speak languages and watch others like English. It’s chaotic. It has no road map, flight plan, railway tracks or footprints on the seashore. That’s why you don’t pronounce jea lous like jea ns. Another example? Genes is not written like jeans, but have the same pronunciation. Now back to the word cart. 1.  He’s carting around a lot of anger. 2.  He’s carting a lot of weight. 3.  He carts some resentment towards his brother. 4.  He has no direction, carts around from job to job. 5.  Hotel cleaners push their carts from floor to floor. 6.  The homeless use grocery shopping baskets to cart their life around. Therefore, if cart is from the word car, it means motion. Movement from here to there. We cannot look down upon homeless people because we also cart shopping baskets from aisle to aisle because of abunda

Cheapest Price over Patriotism

Image
Patriotism doesn't exist. All items in this photo were made from China: daddy's sneakers, shorts, backpack and the two strollers. Not even the geese were made in Canada. They are freelance geese. Made in Canada. Made in Germany.  Made in France. Made in Poland.  Made in U.S. Made in Ireland. Made in Brazil, in a nutshell, buying locally. If you have members of the family who were laid off some time ago, you know the importance of buying locally, buying that table which will take two weeks to make within your country, instead of getting the cheaper pre-packaged one, from that mega furniture store. It’s difficult to be patriotic when money is tight, even credit. Yes, even credit has a limit.  Remember when the cashier said to you:   I’m sorry sir.  Your card has been declined . The price is the determining factor for ordinary folks, that is why they wait for Boxing Day or Black Friday sales.  A friend of mine once accused me of being bad news for the economy because I don’t go fo

Electric Vehicles And The Environment

Image
Netherlands is one of the countries in Europe that subsidize people  who buy cars that do not drink oil, Americans call gas. Climate change is fake, said former U.S. President Donald Trump. You can take a horse to the river but you cannot make it drink. Electric vehicles (EV) might help us prevent further damage to the environment, but are we willing? Daughters and sons have graduated and you want to give them their first car. Will you buy them electric cars? Covid-19 forced us to admit that climate change is real. We have one body of air we share like the sun and moon, but it is filthy. That’s why we were masks. What can we do to rectify the situation, if it’s possible at all? Governments from the most polluting countries signed the l’accord de Paris , known as The Paris Agreement. President Obama signed, but President Trump canceled it. In Europe, countries have various subsidies to encourage less damage to the frail environment. For example, Sweden and Germany have money incentives

Summer Jobs Minimum Wage

Image
We have work but few takers. Employers are crying foul and they blame the pandemic. COVID-19 shut down the world in 2020 and governments provided relief funds to ensure that citizens continued to pay rent, buy food and clothes for kids. They called it stimulus money in the U.S. Employers maintain that workers are used to free government wages, that is why they don’t want to go back to work. First of all, it’s not free. Remember your first job. You were so excited about your first pay cheque. It didn’t last long because the fat cheque you were expecting turned out to be the size of a top model, very thin, because of taxes. Therefore pandemic money was not a handout. Secondly, employers cannot blame it for lack of workers. It stopped in 2021. We had to go back to work. However, that money was more than the minimum wage and was proof that workers can be paid more. The problem is not the stimulus money. It is what is called labour costs. Some industries in Canada do not like the annual adj

Deion Sanders Outside The Window

Image
Deion Sanders 'Coach Prime' Colorado University head football coach. Outsiders like myself don’t know much about American sports like basketball, baseball and football. That’s why I didn’t understand Stephen A. Smith’s excitement when Colorado University had a sold-out spring game, the first under Deion Sanders, as football coach. ‘Coach Prime’ as they call him, put Jackson State University on the map, when he was coach. Don’t get me wrong. It has always being there like other Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), but they were outside the window, looking inside. They were able, but not allowed near the table. There are unsung African American heroes who died trying to get in. The majority stayed outside cocooned by church and family love that cheered them in sports, music and education. Deion Sanders is not one man, he is part of the folks outside the window. That’s why he coaches like that and motivates like that. His tenure at Jackson State University, has hel

Phones For Aliens

Side flip out display, Android 2.1, HSDPA EDGE/GPRS Class 12, HSUPA, eCompass/aGPS + EDR, Display: 2.8” QVGA TFT, Audio: FM Radio Receive, MP3, WMA, Video: Capture/Playback/Streaming, MPEG4, Camera: 3 MP, Digital Zoom, Fixed focus. The G5 craze. Lord! I didn’t know what the excitement was all about but I smiled whenever I found myself around G5 admirers. That was years ago but I still feel I should get freelance tech journalists to conduct some research for me. It will be like lawyers pro bono , meaning they won’t get paid. They will stand in street corners in their countries, go to pubs, train stations, places of worship, hospitals, cricket, soccer, and rugby stadiums, shopping malls, fresh produce markets, hair salons, fisheries, lumber yards, Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park etc. and ask the following questions. 1.        What is the thing in italics in the first paragraph? 2.        Is it a human being, object of destruction or none of the above?   3.        Can the person interviewed

Phone Cases Bad Investment

Image
Investing is common sense and I’m an expert because I don’t invest in pork bellies or microwave ovens. Why not? The world is on diet, which makes pork a swear word. Secondly, we eat more take-out food than warming leftovers in the microwave, so there. If I had money to burn, I would l tell my investment broker not to hook me up with manufacturers of cellphone covers. It would be suicide because there would be no return on my investment. Why? The actual size and shape of cellphones changes constantly. It’s fun watching Motorola, Samsung, Sony, LG, Huawei, Google and the whole fraternity copying each other. I didn’t mention the iPhone because I’ve never had one. Manufacturer A makes a phone, copycats follow. Manufacturer A likes playing hide and seek and flips the script, changes what he created. Copycats change midfield and chase his new invention. There’s a new cover/case for every new phone, so I can’t invest in something that doesn’t mature. It’s not like old school VCR which was the

The Circle

Image
Heels as thick as bricks. Are they back? What does the proverb, what goes around comes around mean? It  means life is a circle. Examples? Fashion and phones. Recently, I saw one of @mkbhd product reviews on YouTube. It was about phones that fold and phones that flip. We are like kids, once we see a new shiny toy, we throw the old one away. Did you have a flip phone? What happened to it? Most of them ended up in a box in the attic or basement. Maybe you donated it to second hand stores like Salvation Army or Goodwill. No, you can’t go back and search for it because they probably melted all flip phones, when the world went android. What was old school is now new school, and doesn’t come cheap. Old flip phones were a director’s delight. Movies had men of power flipping that phone in a half second, issue some warning then close like that. Like how? Very theatrical, talk about drama. It was like a calling card. Phone equals power,  because few people had phones back then. What goes around c

Asparagus Lost and Found

Image
At the bakery this morning. You couldn’t miss it. It was right there near the cashiers. It’s no secret I don’t like it for several reasons. 1.  I’m not a cow. I don’t eat grass, even if it’s thick like asparagus. 2.  I’m not on a diet. I’ve tried losing weight several times, but I get dizzy when I’m hungry. 3.  I have a choice now because I have some money to buy food. I won’t when I’m dead. I might find asparagus on a plate, with Satan threatening to fork me to death if I don’t eat it. ‘It’s good for you. ’ Satan is quite dumb. I’m dead already so he can’t kill me. 4.  I don’t know how to pronounce asparagus. 5.  Restaurants intimidate us with the price. They dress it up with some strips of cold meat with an Italian name, sprinkle some nuts and slap $20 on it. It’s called an appetizer. That’s redundant. The appetite made me leave home to come here. Asparagus What Next? I did not buy it for research purposes. The bakery claims it’s organic but I can’t ascertain that because I don’t kno

Transgender Kids Legally Sex Objects

Image
He’s just a little boy. She’s just a little girl. Pedophiles want to have sex with children, so they don’t see the stage called childhood, present in all animals. They see sex objects. That’s why society calls them child molesters. That will change  because of trans gender kids. Their mothers give birth to them as boys, but they decide at an early age, that they are girls. Pedophiles are happy about it, because if an eight year old boy takes such a life changing decision at that age, he can also decide how and with whom to have sex. It will be two consenting adults.  Society cannot accuse them of being child molesters. The Los Angeles Superior Court granted Zaya Wade, the right to change himself into a girl, despite legal objection from Siohvaughn Funches, who carried him in her womb for nine months. He is legally a girl now. But what is she, in the eyes of the law, a minor or an adult? The American legal system protects children from outsiders and their own families. That’s why most s

Nature Protects Body Parts With Cheeks

Image
Nature has one species, animals. Humans are animals, although we don’t want to admit it. We are animals because we are male and female like gazelles and geese. Animals mate, female gets pregnant, gives birth to babies (usually more than one), nurses them and they grow up. The species continues. Having said that, the human body is exclusive. Nature protects vulnerable parts of the body. Eyes, hands and legs are exposed but they can take care of each other. One hand washes the other, as the proverb goes. Certain parts of the body are protected by two cheeks because they are extremely delicate. That’s why we bathe. Take your funky self out of here, and get under the shower. People close their noses when we don’t bathe because body parts protected by two cheeks are constantly lubricated. We cannot put lotion on them. Nature does the maintenance. Tampering with hidden parts of the body leads to diseases with no cure because the body doesn’t understand what is happening. Human beings think t

The Hated Family Member

Image
The proverb, black sheep of the family has connotations of wrong doing that brings shame to the family. It might be a cousin who is in prison for some despicable act, an aunt who abandoned her husband and two kids and ran away with the pool guy or the son who calls himself the ‘heir’ but does not contribute a dollar for the following events. Christmas, academic excellence like graduation, annual religious days, cultural events and national holidays like Canada Day, Fourth of July or Bastille Day in France, bring families together. But they also resurrect dormant hate for a family member that is more committed to family longevity than others. Seeing long lost relatives because of texting and addiction to the internet, is good news. But, it needs money for bags of rice, corn meal, flour, sacks of potatoes, canned tomatoes, gallons of olive oil, soda and bottles of drinks from Scotland, for grandfather’s friends. You know the freezer will be stocked to the brim with poultry, fish and meat

Garbage Consultant

Image
She's very rich. Why? She hired someone to tell her what chairs  and cushions to buy  and where to put them. Photo: store display. Discard counselor? What is that? I found it in a novel, so it must be man-made or woman-made. Octavia, a character in the book has a part-time job. She goes to people’s homes and tells them what to throw away. It’s something I don’t understand, like interior decorators. You buy a house, something small, with four bedrooms, four bathrooms which includes the guest bathroom downstairs, a country kitchen with a pantry and a top floor which could be used as an apartment. Yes, something small like that. After buying it you bring in an interior decorator to decorate it for you. Interior decorators are humans so they have their view of the world, colour and art. They might have ostentatious ideas inspired by your wealth, but do not demonstrate your personality. No, that doesn’t happen, you say. I will give them specs of what I want. Families in one bed-room apa

Made in England Via China

Image
Although online advertising is #1 on the marketing list, department stores that are still in business have a special floor, where they sell clothes made by British, Italian, French, American or German designers. It is a fallacy because most of them are made in China. This important detail is not included in advertising because it is connected to the price. Women place more value on clothes made by European designers. It goes back to colonization where we longed for ‘madam’s’ clothes as we washed and ironed them. That’s why the label is important. Online advertising now includes individuals called ‘influencers.’ They have many followers on platforms like Instagram, Face, Tik Tok, YouTube etc. Because of this, they can influence your buying habits. When you need a new summer dress, you will buy the Italian designer promoted by your favourite influencer. It sounds ridiculous that a grown woman cannot think for herself, but it happens. Bimbo Ademoye, a Nigerian actress has a skit about inf

Canada Rewind 2021 Election

Image
Canadians do not want a public inquiry on foreign interference in Canada’s election, but politicians only care about personal agendas. Let’s put the car in reserve and revisit what led to the 2021 federal election. BELOW IS  THE AUGUST 2021 POST ABOUT THE SUICIDE SNAP ELECTION In 2021, Liberal Party called an election when we were still groggy from the COVID-19 pandemic. Canada. Calling a federal election is a wrong move because it is the wrong time. Life is not right because of the health emergency the world is facing. The dance changes, when the music changes, to quote and African proverb. There is no rationale for the election. The Liberal Party wants a majority at all costs. Justin Trudeau has abandoned us. He’s no longer the government, but a self-serving individual, delusional enough to think that Canadians are going to gift him that majority. How do we have an election when we’re still pandemic hostages? Restrictions are still in place. Life is not normal and we don’t know when

Canada No to Foreign Inquiry

Image
The Conservative Party will sprint to victory if Canada called an election tomorrow. Why? Because there are issues that make some voters feel helpless and the tendency is retreat into a shell, like a snail. That shell might be the Conservative Party. We saw that in the 2021 vanity election the Prime Minister and his Liberal Party subjected us to. He was gunning for a majority, but ended up in a marriage of convenience with the NDP. The morale of the story is. Canadians are the proverbial still waters run deep. Don’t take them for granted. Yes, they will vote Conservative because the issues we mentioned above are life threatening, but insisting on a foreign interference public inquiry will graze the Party’s support because voters don’t know anything about foreign policy. They are not consulted about Canadian troops in Afghanistan or Ukraine. They are like sheep. NATO takes a decision, Canada follows. Inquiry is a Conservative Party Issue What is the role of the opposition? It is to poli

Ukraine Internet Makes War Stale

Image
Ukraine and France game, set, match. Tennis players Elina Svitolina  and husband Gael Monfils from France. There is no need for war because we are on the internet. Russians have Ukrainian friends and followers on Face, Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok, everywhere. Elina Svitolina is a tennis player from Ukraine. Anna Kournikova is a tennis player from Russia. Coco Gauff is American. Leila Fernandez is Canadian. These women have the same followers because of a common interest, tennis. Unfortunately, they come from countries ruled by old men who do not want to admit that war is a stale commodity. Biden is waging a war against Russia because he has NATO in his pocket. This unnecessary shedding the blood of Ukrainians, Russians, Americans and Canadians is a good example, of why men and women over 40 years should not be in government. I cannot believe I’m saying this because I was taught to respect age. It was equated with wisdom. Young people are perceived as wild, adventurous, brimming with yo
