Trump $364 Million Penalty From New York With Love

One big happy family. Trump's sons are also mentioned in the $364 million penalty.

Talk about breaking news, Judge Engoron today delivered the penalty for defrauding New York.

Old post 1 February 2024, about Donald Trump's civil fraud case.

We are on tenterhooks waiting for the court's decision on how much Donald Trump must pay for defrauding the one and only State of New York. Let's rewind the reason for his New York civil case.

On 6 September 2023, a New York judge found Donald Trump, the businessman-turned reality TV host-turned U.S. President, liable for fraud. Let’s use simple English so that we are all on the same page. It means the judge ruled Trump and his sons, cooked the books in their New York businesses.

Judge Arthur Engoron explained how the ‘cooking’ was done.

“In defendants’ world: rent regulated apartments are worth the same as unregulated apartments; restricted land is worth the same as unrestricted land; restrictions can evaporate into thin air; a disclaimer by one party casting responsibility on another party exonerates the other party’s lies ….”

Clearly, it is a real estate case, but I’m interested in how college and university professors will handle this particular quote, because it is relevant to what various departments teach.
