Test Kitchen Wild Rice


Prepping the rice.

Get the wild rice and brown rice mix from the store. However, it’s very difficult cooking it because brown rice cooks faster than wild rice and can turn mushy.

- Boil two cups in medium heat for 15m

- Don’t cover pot, it will over-boil

- Chop potatoes and rub them with salt

- After that 15m, drop potatoes in the rice, lower heat

- Close pot and cook for 10m

Vegetables

1. Steam sweet potatoes for 6m, boil if there’s no steamer

2. Steam carrots for 6m, boil if there’s no steamer

3. (If you have a Chinese steamer, you’ll steam veggies at the same time, because it has an upstairs and a downstairs).

4. Toss onions, tomatoes and red chilies in olive oil

5. Add salt or your favorite seasoning

6. Cook in low heat for 6m

7. Add sweet potatoes and carrots

8. I had left-over black eye beans, so I added them

9. Cook for 3m, mix with rice

Serving: Eat with white fish, salmon, roast chicken or meat if you’re not a vegetarian.
