Prince William's Nightmare Being King

Prince Williams keeps his fingers crossed that his father has a long life.
He dreads being king of the institution and tradition that took his mother's life.

Prince William is not worried about SPARE, his brother’s book. He has a more pressing issue that gives him nightmares. He sees himself as king and wakes up in cold sweat. His father Charles 111 has a coronation coming up in May, but the nightmare persists. What if there’s an emergency and he is forced to be king?

It’s not a Hollywood script. It’s reality that made Queen Elizabeth, queen of the British Empire. British historical novels are more informative than history books. We were taught that Wallis Simpson is the reason why King Edward abdicated, refused to be king.

She is projected as a bad woman. What did you expect? She was an American and twice divorced, definitely not the right pedigree, for the god-like royal family.

But. The real reason was that King Edward did not want to be king. Old British historical novels were written by insiders. They say he hated the idea of being king after his father. He flaunted royal protocol. He hated going to family townhouses like Balmoral. He told his brothers he did not want the throne.

The royal family called Wallis Simpson that woman. To Edward Prince of Wales, she was the rubber stamp to his conviction that he did not want to be king. That is Prince William's recurring nightmare, to wake up to the horror that he is king.
