Prince Harry's American Cousins

America’s interest in Prince Harry’s book is both historical and circumstantial. Historical because English is the official language. Why? America was a British colony.

Most settlers that established the original 13 colonies, came from Britain.  They were running away from abject poverty of their class, the working class. They could not hide their class origin. As in the book Pygmalion, the way they speak English betrayed them.

Lords, dukes, earls and the rest of the upper class owned land. The working class worked it, mined coal, cooked and cleaned their castles, groomed horses and were nannies to their children.

That is why the U.S. Constitution has a lot of freedoms. Settlers were determined to build a new country that did not have kings and queens. Fast forward to 2023. Prince Harry released his book, SPARE. Interest is circumstantial because he fell in love with an American woman and circumstances forced them to leave England for America.

Prince Harry’s American cousins are divided on his life with Meghan Markle. Some are against their marriage and their decision to speak up for themselves. Others support the couple but are not as vocal as those against, but they are buying the book.

History is far from the minds of Americans who believe it is detrimental to the royal family. They have forgotten early settlers rejected the class system based on kings and queens. They chose freedom of speech and association. It is therefore ironic they don’t feel Prince Harry is entitled to speak his mind .

Comfort Food As Regret Food

Chicken curry. Comfort food is good for the soul, which usually bleeds in winter from icy roads, bad drivers that want to annihilate pedestrians, frozen fingers and toes that take a sabbatical.   What happened to my toes?   I thought I was wearing special socks for boots? Being a passenger is very stressful.   You must listen to the owner of the car, nod and grumble yes to everything he says because you don’t want to piss him off. Two things can happen if you disagree with the driver: he can lose concentration and you all end up in a mash-up accident or stop the car and ask you to get out.   That is the driver’s prerogative.   You must listen to me if you are a passenger in my car.   Let’s flip the script for a minute and sympathise with the driver if she has a passenger who is more intelligent than Albert Einstein. He talks non-stop.   It is all about himself, how right he is, how good he is, how stupid his boss is. Einstein is also a driving instructor.   “Careful.   Look at that guy.   Is he crazy or something? ” says Einstein.
