Good Morning America vs Ime Udoka

Good Morning America love boat, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes.

How is the handling of the Good Morning America love boat, different from how Boston Celtics handled Ime Udoka? Whatever the answer, love affairs in the office seldom end in, and they lived happily ever after.

The two people involved think it’s a good idea until things go wrong and someone feels betrayed or used. This happens because there is no written relationship contract, along the lines of a prenuptial agreement.

Office relationships are usually anchored in sandy ground, which is the phrase ‘I love you,’ a Hollywood invention. The problem with that foundation is interpretation. The man and woman are seldom in sync with what love entails, especially in a work environment.

1. Does this mean they should divorce the people they live with?

2. If they are single, is it assumed they will get married?

3. The woman might want to get pregnant. The man might say, hell no! How would they resolve that?

4. Does the affair mean they should share the same hotel room when attending conferences?

5. Does love justify jealousy?  For example: I don’t like the way you look at the new digital manager.

Where does this leave productivity, when two people are busy babysitting a love affair on company time? What happens when things go wrong? Things inevitably go wrong when one party thought ‘love’ will result in certain milestones.

That is why sports teams like Boston Celtics have policies against ‘I love you’ situations. Ime Udoka, the head coach has been suspended for the 2022-2023 season for violating those policies. The woman is still at her desk.
