Georgia Voters Terrified
Freedom is relative. To women who could not go to town without a chaperone in their own country, going to the drugstore alone in Canada, is freedom. To people who have never seen a voting booth in their life, freedom is entering one, and looking at the options on the piece of paper. Do I vote for Kamala Harris or Donald Trump, Tim Walz or JD Vance?
It’s difficult to explain how exhilarating freedom is to Americans whose great grandparents and grandparents voted in city, state and federal elections. The only people who can understand what it is to be free, are African Americans in the former 13 slave states like Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida etc. They marched for the right to vote. They died for the right to vote. They went to court for the right to vote.
Despite all those sacrifices some are still scared, that men who are their employers and landlords will know that they voted for freedom. Don’t worry grandpa, the vote is secret. It’s not that easy. The law of the land says I’m free, I can vote but I still live and work for a boss that is glued to the past. In fact, he has told me how black and white people in the South should stick together.
Fear. It’s fear Elon Musk has never experienced because he was born white in Pretoria, the capital of South Africa and the most racist city. Pretoria is the Georgia of South Africa where Africans were treated like dogs. Therefore Elon Musk has entitlement in his bones. That is why he is prepping to be the next U.S. President after Donald Trump .
He was born white and privileged in another country. That is why he doesn’t have the fear some Georgia voters have. Voting groups in Georgia have a lot on their plate, convincing voters that there’s no need to be scared. They have more rights than Elon Musk.
