Donald Trump Insanity Defence Old Blog

Jury found Donald Trump guilty of 34 felony counts.

Below is an old blog, 2 August 2023 about Donald Trump attempting to use sanity plea.

---------------------
Children. Once upon a time, in a country called the United States of America, there lived a man called Donald Trump. He became the 45th U.S. President in 2016. Time rolled along and there was a presidential election in 2020. He wanted to be win so badly, he asked the state of Georgia to give him 11,780 votes so that he could beat Joe Biden, the candidate from the other party. He lost the election, but claimed it was rigged.

Children, fast forward to August 1, 2023. His country has just accused him of the following:

1. Conspiracy to defraud the United States

2. Conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding - the January 6 joint session of Congress held to certify Democrat Joe Biden’s election victory

Insanity Plea

Yes children, he can use the insanity plea common in American movies. Yes he can, because he is Donald Trump. He does not respect the American legal system. He has disdain for election procedures that made him president in the first place. The August 1 indictment was not the first one and for him, it’s all water off a duck’s back. He doesn’t show remorse at all, something that makes judges angry.

If he decides to claim he was insane, how will federal prosecutors refute that? Trump doesn’t care. He is preparing to run for president in the 2024 election. I guess he doesn’t know that if he gets away with the insanity plea, he cannot live in the White House again. Anything goes in America, but a mad president? I don’t think so.
