Google Removes Jobs From America

Students are back in college. Some will take computer science. Where will they work if tech companies move jobs to countries that pay 50 cents an hour?

In May 2024, news media carried a story about an email Google sent to workers about layoffs and jobs that will be sent to Mexico and India.

“We intend to maintain our current global footprint while also expanding high-growth global workforce locations …..” wrote Asim Husain, VP Google Developer Ecosystem.

Simple English. They will move the tech industry from California and send jobs to countries with cheap labour and practically no labour laws. Google will make products like the Pixel phone in pesos, Mexico’s currency and the rupee, India’s currency, but sell that phone in U.S. dollars. What will Google do with all that profit? It will be taxed so Google with drop the money in its foundation, to help the ‘poor.’

Google is taking jobs away from Americans for the sole purpose of sending them to Mexican and Indian workers, because they are paid less, much much less that American workers.

Canada: Federal minimum wage $17.30

U.S.A: Federal minimum wage $7.50

The U.S. is a bully country with a bully currency, the dollar. Look at the exchange rate. Google sent jobs to Mexico to India to save on wages.

Take one rupee to America. You will get 12 cents.

Take one peso to America. You will get 5 cents.

Comfort Food As Regret Food

Chicken curry. Comfort food is good for the soul, which usually bleeds in winter from icy roads, bad drivers that want to annihilate pedestrians, frozen fingers and toes that take a sabbatical.   What happened to my toes?   I thought I was wearing special socks for boots? No Air Miles

I don’t have Air Miles.   I’m considering putting that on a T-Shirt because I cannot go to the drugstore (chemist) or coffee shop without the cashier asking me if I have air miles. We waited for about two minutes the other day, while this guy looked for his Air Miles card in his overweight wallet.   For what?   For a few points. I don’t have air miles because Mathematics is a foreign language.   I was never good in numbers. That is why I squashed the idea of being an investment banker very early in life.   I understand you can invest in cornfields before the soil is turned up or pork bellies even before a baby pig is born. That is how I view air miles, investing in tomorrow or the unknown.   I’m the dumb one.   Some people understand this air miles’ thing so well, I overheard one customer saying: I can even convert my points into cash.
