Deion Sanders Glued To Boulder

Texas A&M won’t be calling Deion Sanders to entice him with ‘oil money.’ Don’t look at me. That came from Stephen A. Smith’s mouth.  Oil or gold, money is not everything. Deion Sanders has been saying this for a long time, but we don’t listen because we are sifters. Sifters? Yes, we sift what we want to hear.

Can you imagine what the cacophony will sound like if he took the Texas A&M football head coach job?  “I told you. He left an HBCU institution in the ditch and flew to Colorado University because of money. Look at him now, he’s off to Texas.”

Ah! Ahhhh! Everybody settle down. Let’s admit it. We envy Deion Sanders for living his dream. We are such a miserable lot because we had dreams that never got off the ground. Deion Sanders went to Jackson State to fulfil those dreams. It was not easy but he achieved a lot, but we don’t want to hear about the good part. It doesn’t help the cacophony.  He jumped ship, makes catchy headlines. Deion Sanders is also a diplomat. He’s not letting on, on what really happened in Jackson State. Good. It’s none of our business anyway but, we keep receipts on what he says, something like: in coaching, you are either elevated or terminated. The exact quote is online.

What I also don’t understand about the cacophony is the shortage of common sense. The man just got here. He’s building something. It might be at window level, but he can see and feel progress. Now he should abandon all that and chase another dollar? Please. Besides, the dollar cannot be caught. It’s a mirage.
