In Coach Prime We Still Trust
Ouch! Oregon and old fashioned butt-kicking. No problem. Just a hiccup. It will be fixed in-house.
old post Sept 3, 2023 when CU Buffaloes won the first football game.
Finally. Deion Sanders got the results of the job interview yesterday. The Colorado Buffaloes defeated TCU 45-42. What do you mean yesterday? He was appointed Colorado University Football Coach last year. He was, but American college football was waiting for proof that he could actually do the job with so many new kids on the block. My bad, on the roster.
I don’t envy the man, because of stiff door knobs. I know about them because of Coach Prime’s motivational speeches to players under his watch. During one of them, he brought two players to the front of the class. One was taller more muscle-like, the other was shorter. Coach Prime was in the middle. These two guys pulled this way, and that way. His point was the need for change and retiring the mentality of the past.
That is human nature. This is the right way because I’ve done that for donkey years. If it didn’t work all those years, it needs to be changed, obviously. I think that is the big problem for Deion Sanders. That’s why he decided to use drama to illustrate that point about cohesion within the team and not pulling in different directions.
Coach Prime has used sand paper to fix some of those stiff door knobs. Others are still frayed, and he alluded to that in the post game media briefing. After Colorado Buffs’ win on 2 September, Richard Johnson wrote in Sports Illustrated: “So much of running a college football program is promoting a culture of buy-in and belief…….”
Colorado Buffaloes had a problem, 1-11. Deion Sanders is here to fix it. Stiff door knobs believe he cannot. The man has a lot on his plate. Therefore, they should open the door to let him in, on their way out. They nearly cost him the maiden voyage against TCU.
