Deion Sanders Poaching the NBA?
I’m just saying, because there are certain things that jump at you. Example. College football fans and players are younger than NBA players and they are high volume social media tenants. 'Coach Prime’ understands that. That’s why CU Buffaloes’ practice jerseys before the football season, had their social media handles on their backs.

Because of the ‘Coach Prime’ effect college football fans do not identify with one team, like basketball fans. Deion Sanders has created an ecosystem of either identifying with Coach Prime or against. Television networks love him because of the millions that tune in to watch Colorado Buffaloes whether they love or hate him. They keep tabs on what Boulder Colorado is doing, like Shedeur Sanders pushing his watch in someone’s face in anger. It has become a standard way of saying ‘up yours.’ Whether that is a good thing or not, is another debate for another blog.
NBA players are locked in, because of their contracts. NCAA rules like jumping the portal are quite loose. That’s why it’s easier for college football fans to follow favorite players to new homes. NBA tends to present stability. They are engaged, or married with kids. College football fans are still young, sowing their wild oats.
Music is another unifying factor. From Mississippi to Colorado, Deion Sanders marries music with football. Famous rappers are common place in his home games. The NBA doesn’t have that. Not just rappers, he pulls in current celebrities to talk to Colorado Buffs.
Experts in both games have a better grasp about numbers. Is Deon Sanders poaching fans from the NBA? I’m listening.
