Sign Language is a fully-fledged language, complete with the I LOVE YOU sign. Online videos also have a way of signing I love you, and I saw that played out to the world this summer.
1. Jimmy Butler, the Miami Heat star was at this year’s U.S. Open fooling around with Carlos Alcaraz, last year’s men’s singles’ title winner. After their 10 minutes + match, Jimmy Butler thanked the crowd by forming his hands into a heart.
2. Coco Gauff, the 2023 ladies’ singles’ winner thanked the stands, joined her hands to form a heart.
Where does that sign come from? From the official video of CALM DOWN, Rema’s song. Ask your sons, daughters, nieces, nephews or any young person at home to dance CALM DOWN for you. They will do the heart sign. I also strongly believe that The Eskridges, the dance couple made this sign popular because they have the best CALM DOWN rendition. In fact, they initiate most online dance steps, but are never accredited because, it’s the internet. Thieves are encouraged and respected.
That is music. The internet also has funny Tik Tok and YouTube Shorts mini-plays that are very informative, but you need strong writing skills to pull it off. Here are my favorites.
Best Online Screenplays
1. @thaddboii: my-go-to for American football and other sports
2. @chewkz: my-go-to for nuances between British and American English
3. kiekieTV: my-go-to for all things Nigerian. She’s unique because most Nigerian comics make fun of their mothers’ and aunties’ unique body shape. They exaggerate their butt and chest area with cloth. I don’t find it funny.
4. @richguy: my-go-to for all things American. Great skit about Disney’s problems
