Coach Prime Avoid Distractions

Travis Hunter CU Buffaloes.

Coach Prime must avoid distractions. He knows what I’m talking about. There’s an old JSU tape where he warned Tigers about disrespect from opposing fans and the importance of keeping cool. I forget what game it was.

Now here we are in 2023, distractions nearly cost CU Buffaloes Game 3. Pre-game tension between Colorado State Rams, Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders had the desired effect. Jay Norvell wanted to destabilize Buffaloes mentally. They were mad at his comment about hats and sunglasses. One thing led to the other and Coach Prime received it as ‘personal’. That was Norvell’s modus operandi (m.o.), but it didn’t occur to anybody that destabilization included decommissioning Travis Hunter.

Deion Sanders knows the importance of keeping your eyes on the ball. That’s why he advised fans to be cool on 16 September, during the Rams game. Now he must use the same advice on his players. They must avoid distractions. Travis Hunter is in the hospital and some coaches of up-coming games might take a page from the Jay Norvell playbook: destabilize and decommission.

Shedeur Sanders is the shield, a steel wall. He will lay down his life for 'Pops' but Deion Sanders must remind him to cool it, look at the bigger picture, slow down on the watch in your face messages. CU Buffaloes showed their mettle to overcome diversity and put aside Colorado State 43-35, but they should remember Jay Norvell’s playbook to rile, ignite, destabilize and decommission.

CU Buffaloes will prevail over Oregon. The boys will do it for Travis Hunter, who will be watching the game on TV.
