Zhuri LeBron's Daughter A Class Act
Zhuri James, LeBron James’ daughter made her mother Savannah James proud on 12 July at the ESPYs’ event. She proved she was a good English student, and stopped her mother from using the wrong word that starts with ‘mother …..’ We can only assume it is that common word among comedians, some podcasts and people of a certain age and class.
What are wrong words? Home training is not the same. That word is used a lot in some homes. It’s a word for good morning, come here, give me that, do that and good night. Zhuri demonstrated that her mother Savannah, taught Bronny and Bryce her brothers, not to use it. That’s why she was surprised her mother could attempt such a word in front of a television audience.
I’m not excluding her father LeBron James, the basketball superstar from his sons’ and daughter’s home training. It’s because Savannah is the primary English teacher since her husband is usually in a Lakers jersey on a basketball court somewhere, so that he could put food on the table.
What his daughter Zhuri did on 12 July is phenomenal because of challenges parents face in 2023. Cuteness for example. I might think it is cute when kids stick out tongues at their parents, like Prince William’s son Prince Louis. You might think it is not good home training. I once saw a video where a kid slapped the father, not playfully but with anger. The dad thought it was funny.
Parents are fighting hard to prepare kids for the real world, but the digital co-parent has the upper hand. Kids mimic online images. They dance to what is trending. Zhuri’s parents taught her not to say that bad word, but certain things can slip through. What are they supposed to say if Zhuri sings: Give me one margarita and ………….., give me two margaritas ………? The song is trending. I'm confident Mama Zhuri and Baba Zhuri won't give up. Such bad songs won't stop them from giving their kids the correct vocabulary.
