Bodyguards for Rich and Famous

Selena Gomez singer and celebrity chef.

Question: What do you want to be when you grow up baby girl?

Answer: To be famous.

Question: For what?

Answer: An actress.

Famous people love the camera and the camera loves them, provided they have make-up on, but how do they cope with screaming fans? They are not fans per se, just people who want to take videos and post them on their Instagram, YouTube Shorts and other social media.

I tend to think about the hidden part of the security business. Bodyguards are members of staff, whether they work for a security company or for themselves. What I know for sure is that they don’t work 9-5. They probably sleep in the wee hours of the morning, after the celebrity returns from the Oscars or Tony Awards.

1. Do bodyguards have lunch breaks? Let me stretch ‘lunch’ because if they started guarding the prima donna at midnight, lunch will be around 3 a.m. How about bathroom breaks? Nature does not have a curfew . I got to go, when I got to go.

2. Who provides food for bodyguards? Do they bring their own chocolate bars or the prima donna arranges with the hotel or night club to give them a plate?

3. After seeing the prima donna home, do bodyguards take the subway to their homes, or do they sleep in the servants’ quarters or guest room in the main house.

4. Foreign trips. Do they sleep in the suite next door, just in case some crazy fan manages to come all the way up to executive suites, dressed as ROOM SERVICE?

5. Do bodyguards carry fire power?
