Scammers' Home Address
Scammers win before the first ball is thrown in cricket or baseball. How? My name, email, location and phone number. I believe it’s called data, and it’s more valuable than platinum. O.K. O.K. not now, but it will be soon.
The added advantage for scammers is anonymity. We don’t know who they are, but we gladly give them contact information, something we even hide from family. You know how it is, those family members you avoid.
“Why did you give Ben my number?”
“Because he’s our cousin.”
“But I specifically told you not to.”
“Auntie begged me.”
We hide things from parents and family members but volunteer sensitive personal information to faceless strangers. Internet thuggery won’t stop but Tik Tok, YouTube and the whole fraternity must include a DISCLOSURE form, scammers must give me before I invest. The form will have the following:
1. Scammers name
2. Copy of birth certificate
3. Phone and email
4. Social insurance number
5. Home address (box number won’t do)
6. Principal bank physical address
7. Passwords to all bank accounts
8. Police report about previous crimes and misdemeanors
That’s it. People who want to invest in whatever scheme is being peddled will verify this information, then invest if all is well.
