Movie An Officer and A Gentleman
Movie (1982) | An officer and a Gentleman |
2024 U.S. presidential election | A Gentleman and a Felon |
This classic movie’s title is open to interpretation. Who is the officer, who is the gentleman? Is it one person? The U.S. presidential election in November is on the stove’s front burner. That’s why we can tweak the movie title and call it A Gentleman and a Felon.
It is obvious who the felon is. It is also obvious that President Joe Biden is the gentleman. How? Why on earth would his people advise him to agree to a debate with Donald Trump, knowing full well that anything Trump does is for himself? Biden agreed because he is a gentleman. He said yes because he thinks it will help voters make an educated choice.
Joe Biden’s advisors have relinquished their responsibility to Donald Trump, the felon. He wants a debate. Joe Biden being the quintessential gentleman, says yes. Trump was banking on it. He has belittled the U.S. President since he took office. Defamation of character. That is what it is among two ordinary citizens, but Trump gets away with it because he is the Republican Party’s nominee. He is obnoxious to Biden because he knows Biden is a gentleman. Biden has never called him ‘out of his name’. He uses facts instead. Donald Trump is a felon. On 30 May, a jury found him guilty, on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to cover a crime, before the 2016 presidential election.
Joe Biden’s advisors might think that it is the ‘gentlemanly’ thing to debate a unicorn of a man who only thinks about numero uno. That might backfire because some voters might interpret it, as a sign of weakness.
Stop pandering to the whims of an egotistical felon. Stick to your campaign priorities.
