Zulu Lesson Swimming

Trinidad and Tobago. Wonderful childhood. Freedom to roam and swim.

Swimming is
bhukuda in the Zulu language. In the ocean, swimming pool, bottom of the waterfall, in debt, scandal and legal fees, in the case of Donald Trump. Bhu-ku-da. You say the first part like boom, the second like kudu the animal, and the last like dull.

Crocodiles don’t swim. They are secret agents, always working underground waiting for any thirsty animal. YouTube has a video of a lion having a sip in the river, and the crocodile watches it. Don’t even think about it! Attacking the lion?

I learned how to swim in a swimming pool in Canada because I only rode waves, growing up in a coastal town.  I was therefore not amused when a friend told me I didn’t know how to swim. She rectified the situation and taught me. I stayed in the shallow end most of the time, gripping the rails while she dived into the deep end.

Trump is swimming in legal fees which has his lawyers worried. Will they get paid? He’ll pay them from his fat presidential pension. Sorry. He can’t access that because he’s not retired. He’s still working on getting back to the White House.
