Shopping By Appointment Because of Store Flash Thieves

Young people are in charge of all aspects of society, thanks to the internet. In Nigeria, unknown youth want ‘justice’ for a musician that died. Through social media, they accused another musician of murder, tried him and found him guilty, online.

The police arrested the suspect that has been identified by social media. This is a country where the youth can declare a celebrity married, when he’s not. They ruin lives for page views. They declare that a celebrity’s son has drowned or a couple has divorced. All lies. Now, online youth are dictating to the police and Nigeria's justice system.

Young people, through the power of the internet, invade shops selling designer shoes and handbags, grab whatever they can and flee in cars idling outside. It often happens in the U.S. In August, one flash mob theft was reported in Oxford Street, one of the busiest retail area in the U.K. I read somewhere that some shopping complexes want police sub-stations outside mega-stores like Walmart.

SHOPPING BY APPOINTMENT

In 2020, I saw this sign outside a store I can never afford. I knew that the Shopping By Appointment had nothing to do with the pandemic. It was a way to wean off perpetual browsers, like me.

Can I help? Says the smiling shop assistant.

No thanks. I’m just browsing (me knowing I don’t have a dime to my name).

Because of youth flash robberies, I won’t be surprised if stores institute shopping by appointment policies. That is feasible in stores that carry French and Italian designer clothes and handbags, not Walmart because people need food, diapers and washing powder.

Shopping by appointment will be preceded by structural changes to designer shops. In addition to cameras, they will have steel gates, that will open electronically once the computer confirms that Bobby Seafood has an appointment. New stores will have digital security systems that automatically seal off the entrance, during a youth flash mob theft operation.

Worse case scenario, is the end of the shopping mall because of youth flash mob robberies. We’ll shop online. Prepare to invest in Amazon.
