Attempt To Discredit Fani Willis
Georgia is a ‘country’ not a U.S. state because of how they bend the rules. Based on what the GOP did during the Senate Run-Off elections, I suspected they would try to discredit Fani Willis for indicting Trump. Below is an old post, 25 August 2023.
Georgia might abolish the office of the Fulton County District Attorney (DA) whether Donald Trump + 18 are found guilty or not. That is how Georgia Republicans do it. They remove ‘problems’ because they are in charge. They control both the House and the Senate. The current ‘problem’ is Fani Willis, the Fulton County DA, for indicting Trump for trying to overturn the 2020 election.
That is ridiculous. They cannot do that. It is in the Constitution. They cannot erase the DA’s Office just like that. District Attorneys are custodians of state law. A crime has been committed, they step in to find the needle in the haystack. That’s the point right there. Trump is a whole haystack and Republicans believe he did not commit a crime. That is why Georgia was the first state to enact voter suppression laws based on his lie that he was robbed in 2020. That resulted in an avalanche of such laws, in 19 states. For example, Arizona, Arkansas, and Utah.
Georgia is notorious for ‘doing it my way.’ Example. 6 December 2022, Senate Run Off Election.
The more Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger tightened the screws on the right to vote, the more Georgians waited patiently to vote. Talk about tenacity. Then came Thanksgiving, an American holiday. He turned screws another notch and said state laws do not allow early voting on the Saturday, following Thanksgiving.
1. Ralph Warnock and Georgia Democrats took the matter to court. Fulton County judge ruled that early voting must happen.
2. State of Georgia appealed.
3. Appeals Court Judge upheld Fulton County ruling that there will be early voting on Saturday following the Thanksgiving holiday.
That’s why I maintain Georgia will try to dismantle the Fulton County DA’s office constitutionally or using state laws.
