The internet has beaten us to it. Kids as young as ten, know that a million online followers translate into money in the bank. That is why we should admit defeat and teach business studies in grade school, starting with the question: what would you like to be when you grow up?

The traditional answer is, teachers, lawyers and doctors because they were respected in society. The new question should be: what will you do when you grow up? Business is about doing, and that is what kids under-ten see their teenage sisters and brothers doing on their laptops. Some of it is questionable, that’s why business should be taught in grade school, to limit illegality. Company names for example. Encouraging kids to think about them early in life, crystallizes business ideas in their heads.

The Kool-Aid Stand

Business studies in grade school will be a formality because some kids already have a Kool-Aid stand on the front lawn. Other kids are fortunate to have parents that create business empires for them.

1. White House business. Once upon a time there was an American president called George H.W. Bush. His son, George W. Bush grew up and became a U.S. President.

2. North Korea Supreme leader business. Once upon a time, there was a North Korean leader called Kim Jong 11. His son Kim Jong Un grew up and became the present leader of North Korea.

3. American football business. Deion Sanders, the current Football Head Coach for Colorado University Boulder, is part of NFL lore. He instilled football business in his three sons very early in life. Two of them Shilo and Shedeur are part of the Colorado Buffaloes.

4. Basketball business. Lavar C. Ball is an American businessman, who is proud of relaying his love for basketball to his three sons.

Sometimes kids don’t like their fathers’ business ideas. Dwyane Wade, the NBA star wanted his youngest son Zaire to play basketball, but the boy decided to change himself into a girl, and changed his name to Zara Wade. It was done legally, as well.
