Describe It
The world is in turmoil, and we are both contributors and recipients. That’s why it’s such a relief to hear some good news, see people excited about something they saw somewhere. We want to share the excitement so we say:
“Describe it.”
“I took a video.”
“Can you describe it?”
“Wait, let me scroll down my phone.”
A description is about senses. We see something using the sense of sight, which in turn invokes certain feelings, like excitement. Maybe the excitement is about food like fresh corn bread, gumbo or Spanish paella. We might follow the aroma, enter a restaurant, touch and taste it. That is what happens when we visit places and countries for the first time. We are hypnotized by local aroma. Therefore, it should be relatively easy to describe what we saw, but we can’t because of the vasectomy.
A vasectomy is a medical procedure for men who don’t want kids. It is permanent. There’s no going back. That’s why men who take this route think long and hard before talking to doctors. With us, it is the cellphone. We did a vasectomy to our senses because it takes care of everything. It sees and hears.
We speak because we are human. We speak about things we see and hear. Over time, it becomes difficult to verbalize or describe things because we surrendered our senses to the cellphone. There’s only one thing it cannot do, pick-up the aroma from summer BBQ grills.
