Prince Harry's Book and Reading Patterns

College students read books from cover to cover because of exams. We don't,
so we are not in a position to criticize Spare, Prince Harry's book when it comes out.

‘Royal biographers’ are at it again. They are judging the content of SPARE, Prince Harry’s book before it hits bookstores. That’s not new. They did not listen to the whole Oprah interview. They are fly by nights, or should we say fly by headlines? That’s how Meghan Markle is touted as a bad woman, because of personal headlines.

How much more a book? They won’t read all chapters. They’ll just hitchhike: wait by the roadside and enter carefully-selected cars. Fossils against Meghan Markle will blame her for everything on those pages, which is foolish because every book has an author, Prince Harry in this case. He knows book reviews will target his wife but he will ignore them. He’s happy with his soulmate and two kids, and that’s all that matters.

Hopefully, ‘royal biographers’ and fossils against Meghan Markle will call my bluff and read SPARE from cover to cover. The rest of us won’t because we don’t finish books. There are books that I’ve read 10 times, but I hardly finish most books. I buy them because I write. I can’t write if I don’t read.

Students finish reading books because it is compulsory, assignments and exams demand it. Ordinary people seldom read. They rely on headlines. Therefore reviews of Prince Harry’s book will be just that:  recycled headlines.
