Remember Brittney Griner? Whatever you are doing in Qatar, host of the 2022 FIFA soccer tournament, respect local laws. Flaunting your American citizenship won’t save you, should Qatar authorities throw you in jail. Brittney Griner is a WNBA star but she is in a Russian prison.

Your two passports are no guarantee for immediate release in foreign countries. You are not Charles 111. Like his mother before him, he doesn’t have his photo on a passport because he doesn’t carry one. He inherited half the world through the former British Empire, but most Canadians and Americans have two passports.

The first booklet is from where they were born. After some years, they decide to apply for citizenship. If it’s successful, they take necessary documents, two passport photos (no smiling allowed) to Service Canada, the government department. They fill in forms, sign here and there and wait for a Canadian passport.

Trouble starts when they miss home in Africa, Asia, Europe or South America. Should they use the new passport or motherland passport? There is a false belief that a Canadian or U.S. passport protects you, should you get in trouble in foreign countries.

Americans and Canadians visiting Qatar to watch soccer or participate in other activities, must remember that.

Comfort Food As Regret Food

Chicken curry. Comfort food is good for the soul, which usually bleeds in winter from icy roads, bad drivers that want to annihilate pedestrians, frozen fingers and toes that take a sabbatical.   What happened to my toes?   I thought I was wearing special socks for boots? Being a passenger is very stressful.   You must listen to the owner of the car, nod and grumble yes to everything he says because you don’t want to piss him off. Two things can happen if you disagree with the driver: he can lose concentration and you all end up in a mash-up accident or stop the car and ask you to get out.   That is the driver’s prerogative.   You must listen to me if you are a passenger in my car.   Let’s flip the script for a minute and sympathise with the driver if she has a passenger who is more intelligent than Albert Einstein. He talks non-stop.   It is all about himself, how right he is, how good he is, how stupid his boss is. Einstein is also a driving instructor.   “Careful.   Look at that guy.   Is he crazy or something? ” says Einstein.
