Snow Shoveling Status Symbol

While snow shoveling is an alien concept in Africa, Caribbean and most Pacific Islands, it is normal in Europe, Canada and most parts of the U.S.

However, it is a status symbol.  It denotes home ownership. Yes, some students and other temporary residents that prefer to rent stand-alone houses instead of apartments, also shovel snow.

Radio hosts and T.V. anchors lyrically compare notes on the amount that fell on their driveways. The internet has funny videos of kids helping mum and dad shovel.

Snow shoveling is an unconscious admission that you are financially stable. That is why the bank gave you a loan to buy a house with a driveway. How about condo owners? Some bought that property to avoid it.

Snow shoveling might bring back sad memories to some condo owners,  older Canadians and Americans in particular. It is a back breaking exercise that requires premium health.

Aging gnaws health. That’s why some senior citizens sell their homes and opt for maintenance-free living like condo buildings. Snow shoveling becomes part of the past, when they were financially fit and able-bodied.

Comfort Food As Regret Food

Chicken curry. Comfort food is good for the soul, which usually bleeds in winter from icy roads, bad drivers that want to annihilate pedestrians, frozen fingers and toes that take a sabbatical.   What happened to my toes?   I thought I was wearing special socks for boots? Einstein Passengers

Being a passenger is very stressful.   You must listen to the owner of the car, nod and grumble yes to everything he says because you don’t want to piss him off. Two things can happen if you disagree with the driver: he can lose concentration and you all end up in a mash-up accident or stop the car and ask you to get out.   That is the driver’s prerogative.   You must listen to me if you are a passenger in my car.   Let’s flip the script for a minute and sympathise with the driver if she has a passenger who is more intelligent than Albert Einstein. He talks non-stop.   It is all about himself, how right he is, how good he is, how stupid his boss is. Einstein is also a driving instructor.   “Careful.   Look at that guy.   Is he crazy or something? ” says Einstein.
