Republican In Name Only RINO
Politics is like a buffet. Very few people take a piece from all the food laid out. Asparagus for example. You know I will skip that. Cabbage salad is out of the question because it reminds me of eating it almost three days a week, growing up. I will definitely pick up anything with salmon.
Just like food, political party faithful don’t agree with everything their parties stand for, which brings us to what is called a RINO: Republican in name only, a term close to Donald Trump’s heart. To him, a RINO is a party member that believes Joe Biden won the 2020 election fair and square. To him, a RINO is someone who believes in the justice system. Liz Cheney, who wrote in Oath and Honor that Donald Trump knew he had lost the 2020 election, is definitely a RINO in Trump’s mind.
That brings us to who Trump thinks is a ‘genuine’ Republican. It would be U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, who showed support for Trump on 14 May. This happened across the street from the court room where Michael Cohen was giving testimony at Trump’s ‘hush money’ trial. Michael Johnson became the proxy for Trump. The former president is sealed by gag orders. That’s why Michael Johnson rehashed everything Trump would have said himself. He was not alone. The following men, were part of the proxy entourage.
Vivek Ramaswamy, 2024 presidential candidate
Congressman Byron Donalds
Congressman Cory Mills
Tommy Tuberville U.S. Senator, Alabama
Doug Burgum, North Dakota governor
J.D. Vance, U.S. Senator, Ohio
Because of their loyalty, Donald Trump will not label them RINO, but it is temporary. He might change his mind if they don’t rubber-stamp his future schemes. Ask his former lawyer Sidney Powell.
