Cooking With Gloves

Cooking with gloves is another burden on the environment because the soil cannot absorb them. They are foreign objects, not like fall leaves. You can use them if cooking beetroot, because it stains hands.

I can’t cook.

It’s no big deal because there are alternatives, although they are more expensive than traditional cooking. Mac n’ cheese used to be all alone in a box. There are more food tenants now, packaged food in the store freezer from pumpkin soup, lasagna, beef stroganoff, butter chicken to paella. You can buy Greek salad, green, Caesar or salade nicoise, all prepared. All you have to do is to transfer it into those fancy serving dishes in your kitchen cupboard. You don’t have to get your hands dirty, cooking.

But that’s the whole point, your hands. There’s joy in rubbing a full chicken with olive oil-based salad dressing and roasting it for an hour. Set the oven around 340. You can’t cook but surely, you can chop onions and tomatoes, cook them in a little butter for six minutes, then put salmon or white fish on top. Switch off heat but leave on stove for three minutes. Eat.

Your hands also come in handy when you grate carrots, break lettuce leaves, cut small tomatoes in half, chop cucumbers and mix everything in a bowl with a blue cheese salad dressing. That’s a full meal or eat with that roast chicken.

Cooking with gloves

Because hands are the steering wheel, cooking with gloves will spoil the fun. I cannot imagine mixing the dough for steamed bread with gloved hands. I must use my hands to determine if I need to add a little more flour or water. Cooking also involves tasting, which means putting a drop of stew on my hand and lick it, to check if I did not go crazy with the salt. That would be a problem if I’m wearing gloves. There’s nothing like chopping fresh garden tomatoes and throwing a piece in your mouth.

Most Tik Tok chefs use gloves. Cooking with gloves is also understandable in fast food joints, maybe it’s demanded by city health laws, but at home? I don’t think so.
