It Will Never Happen

There are many things we thought would never happen and they did. Make your own list. Here’s mine.

1. Berlin Wall separating east and west Berlin will never fall. It did, 9 November 1989.

2. Foreign terrorists will never enter America's air space and bomb the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. September 11, 2001 (also known as 9/11).

3. Nobody will enter a school and gun down 20 children between ages of 5-6 and their teachers. Sandy Hook Elementary School, 14 December 2012, is just one example.

4. Domestic terrorists will never attack the Capitol to stop a president who has won an election from being formally certified. Trump supporters on 6 January 2021.

5. Domestic terrorists in Canada will never bring Ottawa, the capital city to a halt, by blocking all access with trucks and semi-trailers. Freedom Convoy did, late January - February 2022 to protest COVID-19 vaccination, Trudeau’s government invoked the Emergencies Act to stop the occupation.

6. A black man will never become U.S. President. Barack Obama.

7. A woman will never become U.S. Vice President. Kamala Harris.

8. A black man will never become U.K. Prime Minister. Rishi Sunak.

9. A black woman will never marry a British prince. Meghan Markle.

10.  America and Russia will never be at war. The Ukraine War is on. The U.S. claims to be protecting Ukraine from Russia. Russia claims America wants Ukraine to be part of NATO, so that it has a launching pad to destroy Russia.

Comfort Food As Regret Food

Chicken curry. Comfort food is good for the soul, which usually bleeds in winter from icy roads, bad drivers that want to annihilate pedestrians, frozen fingers and toes that take a sabbatical.   What happened to my toes?   I thought I was wearing special socks for boots? We therefore have a right to comfort food which throws doctors’ orders out of the window and has no loyalty to calories.   No calculator on the table, thanks very much.   Piece of bread 5 calories, half a banana 10 calories, sugar-free cheesecake 2,000 calories.   Ah! Ah!  We only live once. Einstein Passengers

Being a passenger is very stressful.   You must listen to the owner of the car, nod and grumble yes to everything he says because you don’t want to piss him off. Two things can happen if you disagree with the driver: he can lose concentration and you all end up in a mash-up accident or stop the car and ask you to get out.   That is the driver’s prerogative.   You must listen to me if you are a passenger in my car.   Let’s flip the script for a minute and sympathise with the driver if she has a passenger who is more intelligent than Albert Einstein. He talks non-stop.   It is all about himself, how right he is, how good he is, how stupid his boss is. Einstein is also a driving instructor.   “Careful.   Look at that guy.   Is he crazy or something? ” says Einstein. Einstein is the unofficial pilot.   He presses imaginary brakes in the passenger seat when the driver stops abruptly for a guy who is texting on his bicycle.
