Zulu Lesson To Choose

Shanquella Robinson, an American woman died in Mexico,
while on vacation with unknown friends.

Choice or choosing is khetha in Zulu. Khe-thaThe first part is pronounced as in cap, the second part as in tally.

The internet has many activities to choose from. It is a classroom to some and playground to others. Some women make the choice of flying to other parts of the world as escorts or to have fun with friends they know either personally or online. Some end up in the mortuary in foreign countries, and there are no leads to perpetrators because they did not tell anyone. It was their choice therefore, parents cannot expect the government to perform miracles for a risk. Social media glorifies such travel but women know it’s a risk, but they do it anyway.

Khetha means choose in Zulu. Some immigrants seem overwhelmed by the notion that kids in Canada and the U.S. have a choice especially girls, and cannot be forced to marry at a certain age and to their parents’ choice. Royal families across the world like to choose marriage partners for their kids. Religion too.
