Britain Tradition Ousts Boris Johnson

British ministers Savid Javid and Rish Sunak.

The United Kingdom is unstable, thanks to tradition. Matters that affect the nation, are decided in gilded backrooms, then released to the public, sanitized. That is how Boris Johnson resigned as Prime Minister, caused by the resignation of prominent ministers like Sajid Javid and Rishi Sunak.

He had no option because tradition does not allow a prime minister to be housekeeper if there is no house to keep. The resignation of the 30 ministers was decided in the gilded backrooms but the reason given, was concern for the nation. Johnson was the bad guy, whose misdeeds and lies can be found in BBC archives.

That is neither here nor there. Lies and exchange for favours are the pillars of politics. They have nothing to do with the welfare of the nation. Backroom shenanigans are the reason why Johnson became prime minister in the first place.

Tradition won over the nation’s wishes in 2016, when David Cameron was Prime Minister. He called a referendum to decide whether Britain should remain in the European Union or exit. Voters ticked YES.

Cameron, who is unashamedly European resigned. Theresa May, replaced him in July 2016 to implement the wishes of the people, to go solo outside the E.U.

She was ready to implement those wishes, but her own Party frustrated her, using tradition. She resigned in May 2019 and Boris Johnson was installed as housekeeper.

Tradition wins again because most of the ministers that used tradition to block Therese May from implementing the exit from the E.U, have forced out Boris Johnson.

Tradition facilitated the palace coup by the 30 ministers. That will never change, but they should not use the nation as an excuse. Johnson is evil, the fabulous 30 rain clean, is that it? Was Theresa May evil for wanting to execute what voters decided in the 2016 Brexit referendum?

British politics are like all politics: personal agendas and trade-offs made possible by tradition. Rishi Sunak, Savid Javid and the rest will never tell the world when they met in gilded backrooms and decided BJ must go. Just don’t use the welfare of the nation as a scapegoat.
