Donald Trump must be a proud American. The seeds he threw on the ground about a ‘stolen election’ germinated into voter suppression bills and laws in what is known as ‘red’ states.

Democrats are fighting the reversal of voting rights in the South and elsewhere by trying to pass the Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Amendment Act.

That crashed on 19 January 2022, when Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans blocked them. They also had help with stopping Democrats’ attempts to change the filibuster. How? Democrat senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin voted with Republicans to keep the filibuster intact.

GEORGIA CONNECTION

Why was it important for Reverend Warnock and Jon Ossoff to win the Georgia Senate Run Off Elections in 2021? To stabilize the Senate in Democrats’ favour. As it stands now, they have 50 votes like Republicans, but Vice President Kamala Harris has that extra vote, for her Democratic Party.

What happened on 19 January 2022, indicate that Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have a strategy to neutralize the two Georgia Senators. How? Infiltrate Democrat senators like Sinema and Manchin, appeal to their right wing patriotism over party affiliation.

The successful infiltration debut was on 19 January ‘22. More is yet to come.

Comfort Food As Regret Food

Chicken curry. Comfort food is good for the soul, which usually bleeds in winter from icy roads, bad drivers that want to annihilate pedestrians, frozen fingers and toes that take a sabbatical.   What happened to my toes?   I thought I was wearing special socks for boots? Einstein Passengers

Being a passenger is very stressful.   You must listen to the owner of the car, nod and grumble yes to everything he says because you don’t want to piss him off. Two things can happen if you disagree with the driver: he can lose concentration and you all end up in a mash-up accident or stop the car and ask you to get out.   That is the driver’s prerogative.   You must listen to me if you are a passenger in my car.   Let’s flip the script for a minute and sympathise with the driver if she has a passenger who is more intelligent than Albert Einstein. He talks non-stop.   It is all about himself, how right he is, how good he is, how stupid his boss is. Einstein is also a driving instructor.   “Careful.   Look at that guy.   Is he crazy or something? ” says Einstein.
