Thanksgiving Canada Year '22

Canada. The United States. Two neighbors but very different, except for holidays. U.S. has Thanksgiving, so does Canada.

Young Canada in Winnipeg Manitoba, observing the
2022 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on 30 September.

Don’t call Canada on Monday 10 October because all offices will be closed. It’s a federal holiday, ‘statutory holiday’ to use big English. I bet you didn’t know because you have consumed too many American movies.

America is not great as such. It’s only because before YouTube toppled it, it had the best means of brainwashing. Which is? Movies and sitcoms that are sold cheaply all over the world, for example the Bold and The Beautiful. It was very painful to visit South Africa and find women mesmerized by old episodes of this American soap opera.

Thanksgiving is time for families because Canada is as wide as the sky. Kids that moved to Ontario for better job opportunities, might travel to Manitoba to spend it with parents. I met a former co-worker at a Farmers’ Market in September. She said she lives in Alberta now because that province has more and better jobs than Manitoba.

Food. Lots of food, which might end up in the garbage can. Hopefully we’ll remember the environment this Thanksgiving. Use no plastic bags and buy only what we can eat and recycle.
