We don’t take the receipt when buying a cup of tea, coffee, muffin or gum. We also don’t take it at the bakery because the bread we bought will graduate to toast or sandwiches as soon as we get home.
Our declining to take receipts is directly linked to means of payment. We pay with plastic bank cards. We haven’t used cash since 2020, the arrival of COVID-19. Receipts have important information besides the price.
