Canada Day 2022 Super Special
The 2022 Canada Day will be extra special. Folks will celebrate the July 1 national holiday after a two-year absence. No Canada Day celebrations in 2020 when the pandemic rudely appeared. None in 2021. We were still on lockdown.
This special Canada Day needs advance planning, especially if you intend to spend it outside your province. Reports indicate that airports still have problems that are left-over from the pandemic. They are clogged and tempers are short. Advance planning will give you time and patience, in case you encounter air travel stress.
Provinces and the federal government in Ottawa will definitely bring back fireworks, things shooting into the sky. Some people love being in the thick of things, right there in the park, jostling with Canadians and visitors.
Others prefer the tranquility of home and the proximity of the bathroom. Parents will small kids know exactly where bathrooms are. “Dad, I have to go.” It’s an after thought with grown men and women. Try waiting in line for a bathroom, during Canada Day or a basketball game.
This Canada Day will be super special which means planning a super menu for the family picnic or BBQ. No disposable cups, cutlery and plates please. Bring your favourite bowl/plate and coffee mug. The environment will be super grateful.
