Only Black Men Cry in Public
Tim Scott, who was a Republican Party candidate for the 2024 presidential election but dropped out, professed his love for Donald Trump "I just love you." But at least he didn't cry.
Below is old blog 21 June,2023 about black men crying in public.
Tim Scott and all black candidates in the 2024 election must do us a favour. Do not cry in public. I don’t subscribe to the sentiment that men don’t cry, because they cried when they were little boys. Having said that, I cringe when I see high profile black men crying in public because I don’t see Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, the Ambani brothers in India, Middle East oil families and men from the Huawei cellphone fortune, crying in public.
We are human. We are overcome by emotion sometimes, but when black men cry in public, I get the feeling that it is to reassure someone or something. What exactly? Only the crier knows, but I’m hit by the rubble. I wake up in the morning, run a shower, put on clean underwear as per mama’s upbringing and go out that door. People on the road see a black woman, so when black men cry in public, I wonder who they are trying to reassure.
Van Jones, CNN political commentator. When votes rolled it and it was obvious Joe Biden would be president, he cried about lessons he gives his kids. He was also emotional about the implications for his kids when Donald Trump won the election in 2016.
Will Smith, actor and film producer slapped Chris rock, actor/comedian at the Oscars on 27 March 2022, then cried afterwards.
Shannon Sharpe, famous former NFL player and host of podcast Club Shay Shay. Sports fans also knew him as co-host of Undisputed, which he officially left a few days ago. He thanked behind the camera staff, including security and finally Skip Bayless the co-host. Shannon Sharpe expressed his gratitude and wiped tears with a handkerchief.
