U.N. Talk Show in New York City
All flights lead to New York City for the United Nations General Assembly. It’s an annual talk show for prime ministers, presidents, chancellors and other men that rule countries. Few women like Liz Truss, newly minted U.K. Prime Minister and Jacinda Ardern New Zealand Prime Minister will also attend.
It is a talk show because decisions such as declaring food insecurity; the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan; telling the world about the COVID-19 pandemic and where vaccines will be manufactured or depopulation, happen behind closed doors. We will never know until secret meetings become reality for us. No complaints please. It’s for security reasons, governments tell us.
Talking about security. The U.N. General Assembly is a money maker for New York for obvious reasons, but a nightmare for cabs and ordinary drivers. City traffic will be over-taxed by limos following one limo carrying some prime minister. Remember that a limo takes road space of two cars.
Security is a concern in New York because of 9 September 2001 (9/11), when the World Trade Center’s twin towers were hit.
