Umbrellas For B.C. Fires
We are introverts. We only deal with what is at arms length, even with a platform like the internet that allows us to put the arms up a little, and feel the infinite area above the head.
We are introverts because we pray for the summer, to heal winter wounds. Therefore, we know very little about British Columbia’s fire season. I don’t think we care really.
What bogs the mind is the very description ‘fire season.’ It means it’s a common occurrence, caused by something. Then there must be a solution, otherwise it is irreparable.
Nature has a way of repairing things. We love summer. We frolic outdoors with one eye in the sky in case extreme heat turns into torrential rain. It is cooler after that. British Columbia is not so lucky.
Rain is on strike most of the time, that is why it is called the fire season. The province has man-made machines that spray the land, but they do not have the reach and power of rain.
Whatever causes fires in British Columbia increases in intensity every year. The province knows the cause. They have a budget for it, but they cannot fix it because there are certain things money cannot buy. Climate change is irreversible.
