Shopping Trying on Clothes in Winter

Stores sell less clothes in winter for a variety of reasons. Most people don’t buy new winter coats, jackets or boots every year.  It’s either they don’t have money, or what they have from five years ago is still sturdy enough for Swedish or Canadian winters.

Another reason for stores selling less clothes in winter, is trying them on. Firstly, you wait in line for the sales associate to sanitize a dressing room, then give you one. Secondly, you must take off boots and socks, before shedding off three layers of clothing.

This takes up space on the inbuilt hooks on the wall. Now you don’t know where to hang the pants you want to try on, starting with Size 36, Size 38 and finally 40. You take a minute to blame Covid-19 lockdown for the weight gain.

Next frustration is the zip, which is as short as your nose. Serves you right for not following online fashion trends. The zip was cut in half long before Tik Tok.

You also waste time, pulling up pants. Leave them there on the perimeter. They are not supposed to go further than the bum divider. Call them hanging gardens.

Finally, you found what you can live with, under the circumstances. It’s time to upload all the clothes you took off. I can’t go through this again. Maybe I don’t need new pants after all.
