Starbucks Sharpies Not The Solution

Credit cards are a menace. I bought these two because I finally succumbed to the bank and took its credit card. Starbucks is a rogue. They display all kinds of trinkets you can touch while waiting to place your order. Chaaayi!

I understand Starbucks’ new management is trying to spice things up (not with eggnog). Apparently, one of the strategies is to bring back the sharpie. What is a sharpie? It means you don’t buy coffee but, feel free to do your own research.

Good luck to Starbucks for trying to revive the brand but I have bad unsolicited news. We are the problem, both real and pseudo customers. Our life is a mess. That is why we use Starbucks as a living room, a patio or the basement where we hide, when “your kids” are tearing down the place.

We are the problem because we have offices in the office block down the road, but we prefer to interview potential managers and sales assistants inside Starbucks. When you come to think of it, we are anti-human. Period. We prefer to be alone among multitudes, hogging a table for 4 with our electronic devices that give us joy. Well and good, but not for a business space that sells a product: coffee.

If the new management wants to make money, it should get rid of tables. Coffee-to-go is the answer. They call it take-away in other parts of the world.
