Try is zama in Zulu.

It’s the story of our lives. We try to make things work, but they don’t. That’s why parents in position of power groom kids to ascend the throne after them.

Some mayors’ kids become mayors, prime ministers’ sons become prime ministers, presidents’ sons become presidents, congress men’s sons become congress men, actors’ kids go to Hollywood, pastors’ sons go to the pulpit, NBA parents pull strings for kids to get there, etc.

For the majority, it’s a life of toil, trying to make ends meet. Some couples try to have kids all their lives. A player tries to score in a critical playoffs’ game, but the rim rejects the ball. Some kids drop out of school after trying hard to adjust in a new country.

Za-ma. You say the first part like xylophone and the second like march.

Zama.	A girl’s name. Maybe parents have only sons and were trying for a girl.
Zamokwakhe.	A boy’s name meaning he is trying out something for himself.
Bazamile.	A girl’s name which means they tried.
Ungakhali. Uzamile.	Don’t cry. You tried.
Zama futhi. Uzo-phumelela.	Try again. You’ll succeed.
Ngizama ucingo lwakhe. Luvaliwe.	I’m trying his phone. It’s switched off.
Ngizama ukuya e-Canada.	I’m trying to go to Canada.
Ngizama ukuya kwa-Zulu.	I’m trying to go to KZN province.
Bazama ukuwela umfula.	They are trying to cross the river.
Ngikhathele u-kuzama.	I’m tired of trying.
