Reality vs. movies.  Kawhi Leonard is a real person, an American basketball player who was based in Canada while playing for Toronto Raptors, the 2019 NBA champions.

The NBA is waiting for his decision: leave Raptors to join one of the basketball teams courting him or stay in Canada for a while.

Whatever his choice, he will have conditions for where he is heading, which brings us to Jodhaa Akbar, directed by Indian filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Jodhaa Bai, a Rajput princess and Hrithik Roshan as the Akbar, the Mughal Emperor.

King Bharmal, Jodhaa’s father had a problem.  Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar had a problem.  Jodhaa’s father was scared that the Mughal emperor was going to attack his kingdom.  Mughal Akbar did not want Hindus to be forced to convert to Islam, but some of his generals completely disregarded his instructions.

There was tension at the borders of his empire.  King Bharmal, Jodhaa’s father had a solution.  He gave his daughter in marriage to Mughal Akbar, who liked the idea.

Jodhaa did not.  She cried and cried to no avail.  She dried her tears and decided to go along with her father.  On the night of the wedding, she asked to see Mughal Akbar in her tent.  Her father was mortified.  Mughal Akbar said her father must not worry.  He will go to her.

Princess Jodhaa Bai had conditions.

·         she must not be forced to convert to Islam

·         she also wanted a temple in her chambers where she could observe her Hindu religion

Mughal Akbar said no problem.  Fast forward to July 2019 and Kawhi Leonard.  The NBA is waiting.  Raptors are waiting.  Fans are waiting because Kawhi Leonard is fine-tuning conditions he will present to his adoptive parents, basketball parents that is.

Much has been written about money and it is also important for Leonard because it is his day job.  But the most important condition will be a nurturing environment he needs to take care of business, basketball.

Peace of mind, period.
